More or less lit by a sea of lights, Liverpool was the setting for Light Night 2011. Visitors could choose from almost 100 supposedly “after-dark” (started at 5pm?) events ranging from exhibitions to walks / tours, gigs, dance theatre and film screenings.
With so many options to choose from, mein Herr and I choose to follow the footsteps of about 30 strangers who had also decided to take on the challenge of mastering their orientation skills (and balance skills) by not letting themselves get dizzy in a labyrinth of lights set up on the grounds of John Moores University (Brownlow Hill campus)… And we actually managed to bump into anyone coming from the opposite direction.

Two hours later we found ourselves in the wonderfully quirky Wolstenholme Creative Space base fascinated by its post-modern exhibition: “Strange Sounds from the Attic” showcasing independent drawers, painters and video artists (see Mothman intro picture).
All in all – an enlightening evening.
