Have you heard of Nook and Cranny? In case you haven’t, neither had I until a couple of days ago…
Nook & Cranny is a relatively new retail shop at the Bluecoat, specialising in the most beautiful illustrations, handmade crafts and cards. Amongst the works of many talented Liverpool-based and cross-regional artists are the likes of Sandra Dieckmann, Harriet Gray and Ella Johnston.
Set up by Jen and John Kirby, Nook & Cranny has stayed a little bit under the radar since its shop opening in August 2011. But there is no reason to hide! In fact, if you have got some time on your hands, have a look at this beautifully decorated shop with its multitude of handcrafted, unique designs. There is something for everybody’s taste.
After flicking through dozens of illustrations I finally decided on this handsome buffalo by Fräulein Sandra Dieckmann. (PS. That’s right she’s also a German Fräulein from the same region in North Germany where I studied).
