Those of you who follow me on Twitter have probably already noticed my latest obsession – it’s Rachel Khoo’s Little Paris Kitchen.
For the last five days (not even a week) I’ve been religiously watching her show on the BBC iPlayer / YouTube and have developed a healthy addiction to it. I even ordered her book after only one day of watching.
I’ve decided that French cooking is going to be my new challenge. It’s time to say ‘farewell’ to my pasta dishes and exchange them for some slightly more refined cuisine.
And how could one not feel like that? Rachel Khoo makes French cooking so likeable and easy – although I still believe that it’s going to be challenging. I can already hear myself cursing the idea of trying out classic dishes such as boeuf bourguignon. But what the heck. It’s worth a try.
Below you can find the first three dishes that I would like to make. Because of my lactose intolerance I might have to replace the milk with soy and mature cheese with a dairy-free alternative, but I’m sure Rachel wouldn’t mind. After all, she said she’d cook her “French dishes with a twist”.
And finally here is the trailer to Rachel’s Little Paris Kitchen…
