Coming up // Auditions for Rhys Chatham’s A Crimson Grail
We’re only two months away from the Liverpool Biennial – THE UK Biennial contemporary arts festival. For ten weeks Liverpool is going to be transformed into a spectacular place where community meets art.
One of the many events is going to be Rhys Chatham’s A Crimson Grail at Liverpool Anglican Cathedral. In collaboration with the local producer Samizdat, 100 guitarists and 8 bass players are invited to take part in what is destined to be part of an epic experience (you may want to reconsider your definition of “epic” after stepping into such an incredible space as the Anglican Cathedral).
In order to take part you must have proficient skills, be able to read music and be free on three evenings of rehearsal (11th, 12th and 13th September, as well as the performance on 14th September).
**Applications are due by Friday 27th July. Decisions will be announced by Friday 3rd August. All guitarists will need to use their own guitars and amps, but will play strings generously provided courtesy of D’Addario.**
